Transitions Gothic Arch

Our new theme for the Gothic Arches challenge this week is transitions. After a lot of consideration this is the arch I came up with entitled: From Saint to Sinner. I used a background, painted with acrylic paint and subsequently stamped using a variety of stamps and again acrylic paint. I wanted the image of the star like sun image because as we all know the sun shines equally on saints and sinners!

This fabric was layered up with Fast2Fuse and the images of the saint (a transparency from the Madonna's #2 sheet by Bmuse) and sinner (paper sheet The Muse from LostArtCreations) were added, the transparency by stitching using gold metallic thread and the paper image by glueing.

I added the text using my Dymo writer and machine stitched along the outlines of the sun rays. The centre of the sun was beaded. I also added embellishments in the shape of sequins and beads to the sinner.

I ironed on a backing fabric to the other side of the Fast2Fuse and used satin stitch in gold around the outside edge of this arch, which is one of the new templates provided on the Gothic Arches site.
