Blossom

Today was spend wrestling with the Journal Quilts 2008!! And it was indeed a hard struggle about which I will tell you more in a future post.

To stretch my muscles and get some fresh air, I keep disappearing outside to wonder around the garden for light relief. All of a sudden (or so it seems to me) plants, flowers and trees are springing into life now that the temperatures are slowly but surely rising and the sun is out occasionally.

The blossom on the cherry trees is out and strangely enough it's out almost before any leaves are in sight. I have no idea if this is caused by the very cold winter or the cold temperatures so far this spring, but last year there were definitely a lot more leaves before the blossom came out. After this winter I'm really grateful to have blossom at all and hopefully it will mean there will be cherries too, for the birds to feast on later on in the year!
