On the way

Does one swallow leaving an autumn make? If that's the case, multiple swallows on their way to depart must mean autumn proper has started. These were all gathering on our electricity line and were preening themselves for the long journey ahead.

 It proved difficult to capture one sitting still long enough for me to take the picture.

I finally managed it with this beauty, sitting quietly, perhaps contemplating if he would safely make it to the South.

And another sign of autumn came my way near Newlands Kirk. The first tree whose leaves are on the turn!
