A Wattled Crane

A wattled crane has landed in Scotland which is not it's natural habitat. In fact, bugeranus carunculatus is only found in Africa, south of the Sahara. And it's in Africa that this metal bird came to life.

This is John's birthday present that has been hidden in the shed since November when I bought it for him at Dawyck Botanical Gardens so I'm sure it's pleased to be brought out into the open, even though the weather is not what it is used to. It's made with amazing attention to detail.
