This is the Great Spotted Woodpecker and i't a he as he has red on top of his head. He, and she too, are frequent visitors and they seem to love the coconut filled with suet and seeds. We are going through a coconut a day at the moment as a result. Don't mind as they are so gorgeous but very, very shy. As soon as they detect any movement they're off.
Therefore these pictures have been taken through our none too clean windows and it took him awhile before he became aware of the movements of my zoom lens. So for the first time ever I ended up with some reasonable pictures.
This is the moment he realizes I'm there!
