The latest prompt on Colour Me Positive was: Home. The art challenge asked us to write where do you call home on the pages. I have dealt with this theme quite a few times already in my art journals, not to mention my thoughts! And I know the
answer. Home is where my love is, when my beloved and my dog are. When I drive into our little one track lane I know I'm going home. But for every migrant it takes time (sometimes many years) before they regain that sense of being at home anywhere. And
that is what I choose to portray in this spread, done in the A4 Dylusions art journal.
I used a quotation by Warsan Shire that reads: "At the end of the day, it isn't where I came from. Maybe home is somewhere I'm going and never have been before".
Techniques used: collage (with images from magazines as well as from vintage map and text), rubber stamping, and stencilling.
Materials used: rubberstamps (a circular one as well as a patterned one (KAR204 Wave Texture from Crafty Notions), stencils (L167 Houses, as well as L435 Ancient Marks,
both by Stencilgirl Products). I also used a Dutch postage stamp to refer to where my home used to be. The vintage text refers to Ducth too!

I really found this most interesting. Your comments about what it meant to you really pulled me into the spread. I had to go back to the top to look for the postage stamp! lol
Very wonderful approach to the challenge, I like it!
