The Heather is in Flower

It seems hard to believe it's the first day in August and while I'm still waiting for summer to arrive it seems that autumn is already here. The heather is in full flower. Something that normally happens towards the end of this month.  But here it is. I love seeing the purple slowly taking over the hills, but on the other hand it would be so lovely to have some long sunny days. It looks like it won't be happening this week though but at least the early dog walk along the railway line this morning was sunny. The cloud formations were stunning and I enjoyed seeing the purple haze. As there is no choice it's good enjoy what beauty is on offer.
