Snow walk in Penicuik Estate

BloggerImage
After some energetic snow shuffling this morning we managed to slither out of our drive and down to the main road to go and see just how snowy it was in Penicuik Estate. There was not as much snow there as with us but nevertheless it was more snow than we had seen there before. It was also lovely and busy full of people walking off their indulgences of yesterday as well as indulging in some sledging and making snow angels (oh the temptation to join in with that fun!).

The Pentland Hills looked magnificent with their snow covering and that wonderful sunshine during the afternoon.

By the time we climbed back up to our hill the fog had already descended there and made thewhole world look mysterious. What an amazing day we have had, and although no more snow is expected (not that I trust the weather forecast that much!) it is going to freeze overnight so it should stay with us. I do expect though that my winter boots with spikes will be necessary during the dog walks. It will be icy. I can feel it in the air.

The above picture was taken through the car window as we slowly made our way up on the lane.
