Another gorgeous colour combination

In case you're wondering what I'm doing since I haven't posted for awhile, I've been wrestling (yes, really, that's what it felt like) with a quilt which I'm beading. I had not quite thought this one out as well as I should have and am now quite frustated that my arms aren't longer and I can't reach any farther. Still I only have myself to blame and am now rolling the quilt as I go but I can't say I'm enjoying this one very much! The end is in sight, though, which encourages me to keep going! Occasionally I had to stop and stretch my muscles and then I go for a stroll in the garden. Today I came across this beautiful colour combination which I simply had to picture and also note down for future use in our Colour Groupies ATC exchange. I love that deep red with saturated purple!

Fortunately it hasn't rained too much of late so the poppies are not getting washed out in colour and I also had a long look inside a red beauty, admiring all the different reddish tints that could be seen with the sun shining through!

Also I'm encouraged as my quilt Circles, Spots and Dots received a Judges Merit rozette at the National Quilt Championships in Sandown last month (I'll be writing this one up in project form for the Fabrications magazine, more news and pictures when it's done!), and Tod und Leben (shown on this blog last year) was accepted into the World Quilt and Textile Show as well as being pictured in the Patchwork - und Quiltjournal, a German language magazine, published in Austria. This has all helped me in staying upbeat while dealing with a problem concerning the return (or rather the non-return so far!) of one of my quilts from The States. I can only keep my fingers crossed and hope it's now finally on its way! I'll keep you all informed!

oh Frieda, congratulations on Judges Merit rozette at the National Quilt Championships - wowee Kazowee!! That is awesome. I am hoping everything continues to move forward with the return of your quilt in the states . . . I will be thinking of you in this regard.

yes, the red & purple combo is a great one! I hope to continue to create color-combo ATCs with you for a second year. Your garden is beautiful! I have started a small one at our new home.
