Complimentary colours

Today has been dedicated to starting my Journal Quilt for May and to a visit to the garden centre to buy annuals to fill our baskets. Next year, when John has retired, we are going to grow them all from seed apparently (!) but for this year we had a great time selecting our favourites and then going home to arrange the baskets.

In between the many showers today I also managed to snatch this picture of the berberis in our garden which has just started to flower. This really is my favourite complimentary colour scheme. So bright, so cheerful, so sunny and so summery!
