How amazing, May has arrived and we're already in the fifth month of this year. Time sometimes seems to fly past with a speed that is beyond belief!
A well known motto for May goes as follows:
"Change not a clout, till May be out".
Hopefully it's the weather that will change before too long as it could really be a bit warmer and sunnier by now! We're celebrating the May Day Bank Holiday here in the U.K. and we were surprised by visitors from The Netherlands yesterday. In their honour there is an orange flower at the top of this blog, as orange is the national colour for Holland. At the same time I'm also sort of celebrating the Dutch queen's birthday which officially falls on the 30th April and is known as Koninginnedag in The Netherlands. I've inundated with Dutch gifts by our visitors such as stroopwafels (syrup wafles) and dropjes (liquorice) which will add to the enjoyment of the day!
As this flower (grown from a bulb) is know as the Crown Imperial what could be more suitable?

gorgeous! So different. I cannot wait to see more of your gardens. After all that snow you would think they would be well-watered!!
