Brenda's 4 x 4

The project where every month a group of artists make 4 x 4 pieces for each other is almost coming to an end. After this one there is only 2 more to go.

For this month I had to make my 4" square piece for Brenda who had chosen as her theme Butterfly Garden.

I used a piece of fabric-paper collage as my background and stitched this onto green felt. To this were added three transparencies of butterfly wings (Artchixstudio) which were stitched on and then surrounded by size 11 seed beads in a mix of colours. The transparency text (also from Artchixstudio) says: On wings of music.

The back (decorative paper) was added to the piece and the layers were then stitched together using a satin stitch and green thread.

just lovely! I don't know how you get the patience to sew on all those little beads! That would LIVE on my bedroom wall! Lucky Brenda!

I am so glad this isn't one of the 52 blocks. Then I'd have a new favorite and I'm not ready to leave the arrow behind. Gorgeous, the color, the design-well-everything.

This is just lovely - I particularly like the GREEN - probably because it reminds me of the Spring I hope is coming soon. Thanks also for explaining the techniques you used! J
