30. Triangles Journal Quilt

When I used all those delectable Oakshott fabrics for my journal quilt last week, they were left laying on my desk and seemed to call my name again. I decided to answer and make another journal quilt using both them and remnants from a large variety of fabric paper collage pieces.
I also let myself be inspired by a small quilt I made 2 years ago for a challenge set by the Thistle Quilters and which you can see above, called Fluttering through Time (read my post about it here). Making that quilt had been such a joy that I was keen to repeat the experience and this Triangles one (A4 size) did not disappoint. It could have been made without using my Xyron machine with the fabric glue cartridge but it would have taken so much longer! Needless to say I also stitched and beaded and as I still had a selection of the large, sparkly beads left from Fluttering I added those too. The camera is never all that good with the bling but it certainly shows you where the embellishments are!

By the way, if you're interested in making your own fabric paper collages you can read a step by step tutorial in a much earlier blog post here.
