Sweet!

These beautiful flowers proliferate along the main roads at the moment. At first I thought it was common meadow-rue but I'm now more inclined to call it meadowsweet. The two plants are closely related and the pictures of the flowers in my wildflower book are not clear enough to distinguish them. Whatever the name it's a very sweet sight to feast the eyes on.

I love meadowsweet - so much so that I've planted it in a wild area of my garden! I love the smell of it!
