There could really only be one subject for the prompt Tiny on Artful Adventures, Stroll through the Hood today. I give you the adorable
Flora, our tiniest dog ever. She may be small, but she has a courageous heart. Now that she has found her feet and knows she is much loved she goes out into the big wide world (as in the Penicuik Estate,
our "hood") and greets dogs and people alike. It must be said that she is most kindly inclined towards those people that carry biscuits!
As you can tell she is on the loose, and I strongly suspect that she has been trained sometime in her past to do this and stick by her humans. For those of you who don't know, Flora is a Romanian rescue dog that came to us last November from the
Barking Mad Dog Rescuecharity.
She is around 2 to 3 years old and was a shivering, nervous wreck when she arrived after the long journey. But little by little, tiny step by tiny step, she is becoming the dog she was always meant to be. She gives us so much love that she frequently
reduces me to tears She has also proved to be a highly intelligent girl (probably the smartest dog yet) who barks when people come (we need her as a guard dog and again she has most likely been taught this in her previous life) but to stop when I
tell her to (a feat never mastered even by Rueben, our previous dog). She still has fear issues but the progress she has made over the 6 months she has been here is astonishing.
The pictures were taken over the past few days when the weather was glorious. We had some thunderstorms last night and it's a lot cooler today and cloudy too, but dry. Looking forward to the next dog walk!
