Journal Quilts and Fabric Postcards

The article I wroteabout Journal Quilts, for (British) Patchwork & Quilting Magazine is now out in the February 2007 issue and I'm showing you the May 2006 one (my favourite for this year) here just to give you a taste. All my journals for 2004, 5 and 6 can be seen in the actual magazine. At the same time we could sign up to do the 2007 Journal. Only one this year but larger (17 x 22") and you won't get any more information about this one till the Houston Quilt Show opens later this year and the Journals are revealed.

At the same time we are also making Journal Quilts for the Comtemporary Group of the British Quilters Guild, these will be A4 size and we are making 12 of them, for every month of the year. Again, no further peeks allowed till they are finished.

I also learned today that one of my fabric postcards is now "in the collection of" Karey Bresenhan, the driving force behind the Houston Quilt Show as well as the Journal Quilt project. I feel really honoured!! The fabric postcard project raised money for the American Cancer Society and we managed to raise approx. $120.000, thanks to Virginia Spiegel (www.virginiaspiegel.com) who started the ball rolling and organzed us all and again thanks to Karey who allowed her to sell them in Houston. I've written an article about fabric postcards for the online quilting magazine www.thequiltingweb.com where you can see this card again as well as instructions on how to go about making these little beauties.
