An LAC Day

This was a wonderful day as my Lost Art Creations package arrived. Now it is up to me to make art with it, and needless to say I could not wait to get started. Terrie had enclosed a Vintage Nude Sheet called Unadorned and this was definitely one of my favourites. Sometimes swapping is difficult as not everyone likes nudes but I just love them and here are two examples

This one on the left, an ATC, also uses a transparency (the gate) from the Ironwork sheet. The background is a fabric collage including a pink heart which you can just see in the top left corner. I love the spiky shapes of the gate and look closely at what they frame!

The other image on the right is also an ATC called Storm in a Teacup. The image of the vintage nude is once again from the Unadorned collage sheet and the flower image is a transparency from the Flower Power II sheet. The other one is a button I had which seemed to fit this card so well as it echoes the flower shape.

After this I wanted to challenge myself and use a child's image as this is not something I use a lot and there were some gorgeous images on the LAC sheet Cute Kids II. I'm really keen on making postcards so this is a 6 x 4" piece. The quotation comes from one of the vintage text sheets from LAC. The French text translates as: Little Rose, isn't it good to be alive!, and this made me use the collaged fabric background i selected as it features many things I enjoy in life, the countryside as well as a French chateau and a wine label. The blue LAC trim made a lovely contrast with this and toned in well with the Cute Kid image. I finished off the card by adding the artful hardware which I dulled by rubbing on blue metallic colour. I think this is my favourite of the day!!

Don't forget you can find all these goodies at Lost Art Creations. The link is on the right, check it out!
