Gothic Arches Text

I kept reading in various of my groups about the Gothic Arches challenge and I finally caved in and had a look at the website. Needless to say it proved to be my undoing as I simply loved the arched shape.

This website posts a new theme every Sunday and you make a Gothic Arch incorporating the theme. You then upload it to your own blog as I'm doing now, and provide a link to the Gothic Arches website. You can upload till the next theme is posted. And then you leave a comment on the Gothic Arches site, with a link back to your own blog.

So without further ado I downloaded the template from the site (thanks to Belinda Schneider) and made my very first one. This weeks' challenge theme was Text, so I used a fabric/paper collage background which featured text in a variety of languages, added two stamps (Fortune and the hand with heart) from Alphastamps and also 2 fabric images from the Kisses Alphastamps collage sheet. I loaded the whole lot onto a watercolour background and stitched around the edges while at the same time couching down a nobbly green knitting yarn.

My contribution to the Arches challenge is called: The Art of Kissing!

I'm going to keep my eye on these challenges and hopefully I should end up with a lovely collection of Gothic Arch Art which I can put together in a book.
