Gothic Arches for Cat

Another new venture has started up for 2008, concentrating on Gothic Arches. A group of us formed a Yahoo group OhMyGothic and every month we are making a set of arches for one of the other artists. This month, Cat and I are exchanging arches. I've chosen Vintage Nude or Vintage Ladies for my arches. Cat has a much broader brief. She likes green, birds etc. so this is the first one I made for her. The arches are not the same size as for the Weekly Challenge on Gothic Arches, they are broader and a bit shorter.

This Window arch is made from a paper/fabric collage on the theme of birds, nests, and birdcages, which I also used for some inchies coming up in a future post. I stamped the background first with stamps from Cavallini Birds and Nests tin. They are lovely and small and great for background stamping. On the collage I included vintage bird images from an old bird book which I bought on Ebay. So is the vintage text I added to the collage.

The flower image at the top is from a fabrik-paper collage sheet from Bmuse and the window word is on fabric and from Artchix (they have stopped doing their fabric images but I did stock up before they disappeared!). I've added Perfect Accent to the word.
Cat also likes fairies and the other arch I made for her plays with this theme. The background features a bird and flowers and the transparency featuring a fairy riding a butterfly is from Artchix Studio as is the transparency with the words. I've also added some pink beads.
