The background for these ATCs is a lovely soft blue velvet fabric (from Cabbage Patch Fabrics) which I machine quilted in straight lines. To this background I added the images (all from the Blue fabric collage sheet by Divasdeste), by sewing with a transparent thread. I also sewed on the vintage lace trim. The rose embellishments were added by hand with an additional blue bead in the centre. Suitable vintage text was glued on. Finally I decorated the edge with a fancy knitting yarn which was added with zigzag stitching and the card was then layered with watercolour paper and stitched on.
Of course I could not resist adding a similar card to my 100 ATC project which is definitely nearing its end now. This is card no. 84, entitled: Alluring. Made in the same way as described above. Saturday 22 March 2008
Fabric and Fiber ATCs
I've completed another lot of ATCs as well as one for my 100 ATC project today. These are for a Fabric & Fiber Swap on the AdvancedArtistTradingCardsUK Yahoo group. I'm a not very active member of this group but whenever the word fabric pops up I pay a bit more attention and I could not resist the temptation to sign up for this one. There are quite a few non-UK members by now and this swap is actually hosted by Cindy in the US so still no UK postage. Never mind, I simply know the returns are going to be wonderful.
