Dreaming of a magical rose-garden

You would have thought that the roses are coming to an end by now, and for most of them this is true. But I keep discovering new treasures which are only now coming into full bloom. Because of the particular conditions of this year's dry and warm spring and relatively warm but wettish summer it appears that some roses that were on their last legs in the past years, have decided to change their mind and remind us that they are still in situ.

This is a modern English rose whose name has disappeared from the annals of history (I've forgotten it!!) but it looks truely magnificent against the background of our side wall. Because it's a modern rose it also does not suffer from rust, as you can tell by the wonderfully green leaves.
It's on my list to form the focal point for one of my fabric collages in the future, specially as it photographed really well in the sunshine today. So unlike the following quotation, I actually enjoyed this rose to the very brim today. But I love the quotation so I'll share it with you anyway:
We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today. (Dale Carnegie).
