Published in France

My mother left this morning and arrived back safely in The Netherlands and while she was still in the air I returned to my studio for the first time in over a week. I do tend to get ever so slightly (oh, okay, I admit it, very much!) frustrated when I can't art away there so as a treat I allowed myself to bead on a large quilt all today instead of working on an article from my To Do List. Back to the grindstone tomorrow!!
It was a wonderful surprise to receive a French book about ATCs today in the mail, called Les Artist Trading Cards; une aventure en miniature, by Isabelle Auroux. I had ordered this from the French Amazon site as I knew one of my ATCs would be published in it, but for the rest I did not know much about what the book was going to be like. The text is entirely in French so be aware of that!

This book turned out to be a real beauty, with great photography and lay-out. Its writer, Isabelle Auroux, became obsessed with ATCs in 2006 and went on to organize a huge ATC exhibition featuring more than 3000 cards in Clermont-Ferrand, France, in 2007 and from all these cards she selected 300 ATCs for inclusion in this book. You can see how my ATC Happy Little Maiden looks in the book above (on page 65 and it can also be seen on page 51) and underneath is a picture of the ATC in detail. Congratulations on the book! Looks beautiful. I know exactly what you mean about being frustrated when you have visitors! I'll be like that in a few weeks at half term.
