It truely was a gorgeous morning when I took the dogs for a walk first thing. The sun was just popping over the horizon and spread its light over the Pentland hills at the opposite side of the valley. The colours were beautiful and subtle, and very hard to capture in pictures. But I tried my best and here are two results.
We really are battening down the hatches and hunkering down by the fire as more really bad weather is apparently to come. It will start snowing here again around midday and even more snow is on it's way tomorrow as well as very low temperatures and black ice. Our little lane is frozen solid and no gritter has been along which probably means the main roads are keeping them too busy to bother about the country lanes. John has even checked out the generator just in case the electricity goes, not an unheard of event here in the Scottish Borders!

I'd love to see these sights in person & hope someday to journey to Scotland, but meanwhile, I can enjoy your corner of the world via your blog!
