The setting sun

Yesterday evening was typical for most of the evenings this past week. The pay-off for very cold but sunny days and freezing nights is the magnificent sunsets almost every evening. Last night was especially spectacular!

The colours are unmanipulated. I simply pointed my camera, downloaded the picture and uploaded it to this blog! By the way, I saw this sunset from the window of the room where the computer is located, grabbed the camera and rushed outside. It was not till I reached the gate into the garden from our courtyard that I realized that I would need boots to get into the garden and reach my best vantage point for capturing the sunset. As, would you believe it, the snow still reaches half-way up those boots!
