A clean bill of health

It's official after getting all the test results back from the vet. Troi, the greyhound, is in excellent health and the vet agreed with me that her fainting fit was probably due to the fact that she ate something that disagreed with her. If I had concentrated a bit less on my interview with the Loch Lomond Quilt Show organizers and a bit more on Troi that day, I would have realized that she really was not quite herself when I walked her that morning. She showed all the symptoms of a dog with a sore tummy and normally I would have picked up on that. Really I would not have made a bad vet, had I gone ahead with the study as I planned all through my secondary education, but as I was rightly advised by the university at the time, I'm way too emotional about my pets, or in fact any animal that crossed my path!

Troi's thyroid, blood, urine and heart are all in very good shape and she herself has forgotten all about her upset and is back to her usual self. The effect on John and I will no doubt take a bit longer to put from our minds!!

I wanted to capture a picture of her to accompany this blog so I was stalking her with my camera today. The picture I took was a compete fluke, a picture that I would probably never be able to capture had I planned it ever so carefully. Instead I was in the process of picturing a close-up detail of Troi's face when Rueben walked right up to her just when I clicked the button.

And what a gorgeous photo it turned out to be!! I just love it!

Great news - and you shouldn't be blaming yourself - you are a fantastic dog-mum!
Unlike me! I had to meet DH at the garage where I was leaving my car and he was bringing me home as a continuation of his journey from a meeting. When we got back, Biddy was larking in the yard all alone. I had shut the front door but left the back door wide open. Bless her for not going AWOL!!!
