The sun is shining

Amazing the difference sunshine makes to a day. Suddenly the blood seems to stream faster through my veins and there is a definitely spring in my step. My head knows it isn't Spring yet (last year we had a load of snow in late March) but the snowdrops can be spotted in our garden and there is no longer any need for a duffel coat. The pictures also look so much brighter but of course the sun means more shadows too and I managed a self-portrait during the dog walk as you can see above.

Yesterday was very wet and there was still plenty of water about in the verges of the road, which the camera picked up but I took the photo above (also my blip) as I'm always so very happy to be down on earth enjoying fresh air and sunshine instead of being in those planes above! However, it does add a lot of interest in the blue sky. Flying nowadays is simply so time-consuming and no fun at all anymore.

The contrasts in the landscape are so much stronger and more interesting, and the small white clouds are a perfect finishing touch. Whatever happens weatherwise in the next few days, no-one can take the memory of this perfect afternoon away from me.

Love all the photos of your beautiful rural world from the past few days, and so happy that you have sunshine today! Your mention of an actual Roman road just sets me to quivering! History as such (endless people, wars and tedious dates to memorize) doesn't thrill me, but the idea of antiquity captures my imagination.

Beautiful! I am so happy for you to have a day full of sunshine! You really needed it!
We have had on and off weather, really cold (for us) and then quite warm, I never know what to expect!
Hugs,
Terri
