Tomorrow is the official opening date of my colour - quilts - collage exhibition and it was an oh so delicious surprise to discover it was featured in our local newspaper The Peeblesshire News today.
Another surprise was the announcement of the new Sketchbook Project for 2012 and of course I could not resist! I just signed up and my theme will be monochromatic. In case that surprises those of you who know my obsession with colour I can already reveal that of course in my case that will mean monochromatic spreads but a different colour for each one so that the sketchbook as a whole will be filled with colour. As per usual my choice of subject was fast, instinctive and following my heart, rather than my head. I clicked that button before thinking about it twice. It's the way I do everything, jump in first and then think about whether I can swim or not! So far I'm always managed to keep my head above water. I'm already looking forward to it immensely!

Thank you so much for Thursday, Frieda - it really enhances the experience to hear the artist's personal introduction to the pieces, and I'm looking forward to seeing them again. And again!
