Treasure Necklace

I finised the Treasure necklace yesterday. It was designed by and started in a class by Laura McCabe. It seemed like I had been working on it forever, just one hour each evening, but in fact it has only been a little over 2 months since Laura was present in the Beadshop Haddington. The individual boxes of the necklace actually open and you could put little treasures inside, hence the name! You can see the necklace in detail on the picture above but for my blip today I choose the photograph seen below as I think it was a better one, photographically speaking.

And by the way, no that isn't me as some people thought the last time I used my mannequin to picture a piece of jewellery. Wish that it was, such gorgeous smooth skin! Which is plastic!

Beautiful necklace Frieda! I think Laura teaches more across the pond than she does it her home state ( at least she used to be local - don't know if she still is). A friend of mine does this kind of beading too and has been over to Laura's home to buy beads and kits from her.

Gorgeous! I love the colorway. Did you pick it yourself, or buy a kit from Laura?

My beading friend and I are taking the class in May here in California (Creative Castle) and have to buy our own beads -- no kits.... would love to know what colors you used. I love Laura!!
