More Painted Pages

My inner artist child responds best to a system of rewards. So when I have a hard task ahead of me instead of giving myself a kick up the proverbial I devise little treats for myself during the work in hand. Today when the second quilt needed to be tack I rewarded myself by indulging in some wild painting, where rather than planning the process I simply allowed myself to pick up colours of acrylics, inks, oil pastels etc. at random and throw them at my large paper sheet, occasionally also adding stencils and stamps to the mix. It's very liberating and even better, a lot of fun. I ended up with a large (A2) sheet and there were hidden gems in the details so I spend quite some time photographing different parts of the piece. I quite liked the detail above.
But getting even closer and isolating a detail from that detail resulted in a picture I love even more. I will add this to my painted paper collection in my computer so that I can print it out on paper or fabric whenever I want.
Here is another area I was rather taken with. Love that red and turquoise colour combination.

Even better, at the end of the day I not only had a lovely sheet full of inspiration but also a tacked quilt (plus a sore back, but no doubt that will recover!). Result!
