The first flutterings

The first snow of the winter greeted us when we opened the curtains this morning. It was only a fluttering but it was laying on frozen ground and it was good to see the gritter coming past when I was leaving for my dog walk. It was cold but also very lovely with the sun just touching the top of the clouds pink in the distance. I saw quite a lot of wild life but wasn't fast enough with the camera to capture them.
But in a neighbouring field the sheep were more obliging. They kept an eye on me and the dogs but were fairly relaxed about our presence.
Up on the moor and the peat field it looked bleak but beautiful.

I ordered my belated Christmas present this morning (thanks, Mum!) in the form of a Brother Scan 'n Cut machine. Delivery won't be until around the middle of February so I have plenty of time to look at the instructional videos online in the meantime. The machine is only available from the CreateandCraft channel here in the UK and I have been keenly awaiting it's arrival. Today was the day as they will be demonstrating it this afternoon live from CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) in Anaheim, California. For once I will be switching on the television at 2pm. How very frivolous. But fun.

I too look forward to seeing what a magical machine does in magical hands! Hope the snow remains a smattering - forecast here for Friday, but I am getting rather fond of mud this winter!
