Repeat One Shape

It's already week 7 of 2014 and the challenge on  The Documented Life Project for this week is: Draw one Shape - repeat - add colour.  How could I not choose to use a circle, seeing that I still get addressed regularly as "the circle lady" although that refers to my circle quilts. I love circles and they keep popping up in my work. I don't need any excuse to add them to anything. This page would be called reverse appliqué if it was fabric. I made it in the same way, using two sheets of gelli plate printed images and cutting circles out of one of them, adding this sheet with the cut out shapes on top of the other sheet of paper,  and stitching around the cut outs.
Then I added some of the smaller cut out circles as well as circles cut from Chinese paper and vintage text to the larger circles on the page as well as randomly over the page as can be seen above. I emphasized the outlines with a Stabilo All pencil as well as watercolour oil pastels. The words were stamped on and then the page was tipped into my Moleskine 2014 planner using circular themed washi tape.
I will have to watch it as this is a double paper sized tip in. If I make all my tip-ins this thick the journal might burst towards the end!

Beautiful!!! I'm plugging a way at learning techniques, sort of, so I'm slow with my journal challenges. I'm skipping a couple to do at a later time. Have a great day!!
