Exchanging a Day of Your Life

Time for the weekly challenge in The Documented Life Project. Doing this project seems to make the weeks fly past even faster than normal. We're already living in week 13 of this year. And the prompt this week was not the easiest one: Ask someone else to draw on your page - finish it. The only other person present here is very likely to present me with a diagram of fencing to be build or how to make a bird house and those aren't things I either want to know or would know what to do with. So I made an executive decision (after all, it's my planner!) to borrow some drawing from elsewhere. That turned out to be a Papaya calendar from last year. I found a month I liked, cut out the image and then cut it in half and added the pretty woman to a gelli plate printed background. I embellished her further (she already sparkled!) by colouring in her outfit using paint markers.

I also further enhanced the background which had vague circles. I emphasized them with coloured paint markers as well as water soluble oil pastels (at the moment my favourite colouring tools) and added lace to the bottom of the page. I used gold stitching to hold down both the figure and the lace. As it happened the sewing machine still had gold thread in it from the project I'm working on so that was used to add even more sparkle.

The final addition was to stamp the text on using Staz-On. It reads: "What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it". It seemed eminently suitable to put into a planner/diary.
