Not Everybody Lives

The prompt for week 3 on Colour Me Positive is: Living Life to the Full, and the challenge was to use song lyrics. I went with the very first one that came to mind. It comes from the song  Moment 4 Life , from Nicky Minaj's album Pink Friday. You can find the song here. She sings it with Drake.

By chance (or is it some kind of intervention by the universe?) I had recently cut out two images, one from a magazine and one from the newspaper that not only proved to be a perfect compliment to each other but also to suit the theme of Everybody dies but not everybody lives perfectly. Not that I want to suggest that a glass of wine isn't good for you!

The background was made with paint and stencils from Stencilgirl. I used  the Ripple Effect stencil, the Are We There Yet stencil, and the smallest stencil from March 2015 Stencilgirl Club. Rubber stamping was added using stamps from Art to the 5th. The figures were glued on as shown as well as collage with vintage images and text as well as some gold paper as seen above. Strips of washi tape were adhered to the page too.

Sometimes such very uncanny things happen on a spread that it sends a shiver down my spine and these pages did it again. The word funeral was on the washi tape underneath the stencilled words Life Time, and right underneath the stencilled arrow the vintage text says: "pointed to the grave". All quite unnerving!

The page was finished with the addition of the stamped text of the lyrics and by glueing on the three postage stamps, carefully chosen both for their imagery and colour.

Oh my Frieda, that is unnerving! It is a fabulous page, entirely interesting. I have had that happen to me before where words show up by chance that match my theme or give it a twist.
Hugs,
Terri

Oh wow, great page! Words directly related popping, not deliberately, happens to me often too! You're so inspiring!
