Transportation

Our second prompt for Nathalie Kalbach's Artful Adventures Stroll through the Hood was: Transportation. For this I simply had to use an image of the old railway line bridge situated immediately below our house. It leads to the path that once used to be the railway but is now a great place for the daily dog walk. I have walked here at least once a day for almost 22 years. No idea how much distance I have covered in that time but it's the one place on this earth that makes me (a migrant just like Nathalie) feel rooted. If you look carefully at the picture above you may just see Flora sitting underneath the arch.
This afternoon our dog walk took us to Penicuik Estate where we were lucky enough to spot this heron. It was another fabulous day.
