The Soul of Music Gothic Arch

The new theme for the Gothic Arches challenge has been set by Keron, one of my fellow members of the Alphastamps Design Team, and it's Music.

I love music and have an eclectic taste ranging from Mahler, through to ballads and French chansons but whenever music is mentioned I also immediately think of bird song. We have a large variety of bird tables and feeders and I like nothing better than to stand very still and listen to all the different birds singing away in the trees while waiting for the peanuts and bird seed to be distributed.

I combined these elements in my arch. The background is a paper/fabric collage incorporating sheet music, a napkin with bird eggs and flowers and torn paper on the theme of Friends (and birds are definitely my friends and I am theirs!). On to this I sewed a bird transparency (from Alphastamps Parrots sheet). I added the text: The Soul of Music, by Dymo writer and again sewed around it using blue thread. At the top I added a glorious sun which started life as an earring. I lost one of them and felt the other one would provided just the finishing touch this arch needed.
