We received some gorgeous new stamps in our Alphastamps kit and I could not wait to do something with them. I started with this 5.5 x 6" piece. The centre background is one of my fabric paper collages which I had pre-stamped with stamps from Alphastamps Architecture Clear Stamp Set. I cut this to size and layered it up with felt. I stamped the Alphastamps Vine Border stamp (no link yet, but will add this as soon as the stamp is available on the AS site!) onto acetate, using black Staz-On ink. This was sewed onto the background with transparent thread.
The slightly curious looking beauty is from Alphastamps Ball#2 fabric collage sheet and has been glued on with one foot and arm sticking out from the background. I also added a self-adhesive butterfly which picked up some of the colours of the background.
I layered up blue fabric, wadding (batting) and calico (muslin) and machine quilted these together with blue thread and one of the decorative stitches on my sewing machine. From this I cut my 5.5 x 6" piece and sewed on the above made piece with pink thread and satin stitch. I added blue size 11 seed beads along the edges.
The blue piece was bordered with pink transparent ribbon (from Threadart) and the final touch consists of a vintage white glass button.

Debby
Frieda, I really like your slightly curious lady from Alpha Stamps (must rumage through my sheets now!!) and most especially the way you placed her on the fabric page, stepping off to somewhere. The Architecture stamp is very nice as well. I love those clear stamps! Another lovely piece of fabric art from you, mmmm.
yours, lenna
Utterly delightful!!!
