My latest issue from the Craft Stamper Magazine arrived (March 2010) and although I already knew my quilted ATCs would be published in this one, it still was a gorgeous surprise to see how beautifully they had made the article look. You can find it on pages 74-76.
For copyright reasons I can only give you a taste on this blog so the pictures are just a glimpse of the start of the article as well as one of the ATCs. The article gives a step by step demonstration of how I made the fabric-paper background for these ATCs both in words and in pictures as well as how I made the main ATC plus brief descriptions for the other ATCs I made to accompany the main one. I know a lot of people are very interested in my fabric-paper collages and you can't do better than obtain a copy of this issue of the magazine. You can buy it from newsstands here in the U.K. and I believe it is also available in the US. If you can't find it there is always the online shop as well.
And by the way you get a free stamp with every issue of the magazine if you are in the U.K. and I just loved the stamp attached to this issue; a lovely girl face designed by Art Journey (a Dutch stamping company, oh yes, serendipity again, as that is where I come from originally!)
I used stamps from Cherry Pie Art Stamps (Plate 49 Thoughts) for all the cards as well as Stampers Anonymous ones (Tiny Textures and Artful Mosaic) , that are readily available retail here in the U.K., one of the requirements for articles in the Craft Stamper Magazine.

Congrats on the newest publication, how fun! I'll have to look for this issue and see if I can find it here.
I just love the stitching on this one, so pretty!
Congratulations on another published work, Frieda!! The featured ATC is absolutely gorgeous. yummmmmy!!!
This is the first time I've seen your blog after looking at Craft Stamper. I loved your article! I'm a quilter too, and the idea of turning to smaller things is not just appealing, it's essential - we've run out of beds and wall-space! You mention something called 'transparency' in the Pensait and Bliss ATC instructions - what is this and can you suggest where to obtain it?
Thanks for sharing your great ideas, I'm inspired!
Hi Kim, you did not leave an e-mail address so I'm answering your question here. Transparencies are acetate sheets on which you can stamp or print. They are available in computer shops such as PC World here in the U.K. There are ones for inkjet printers and ones for laser printers. To stamp on that makes no difference (used Staz-on) but if you want to print on them yourself make sure you get the right one for your printer. Both come with full instructions. It's a bit of a slippery surface to stamp on so make sure you don't let your stamp slip!
Hi Frieda, thanks! I've used acetate before, just didn't realise it was the same thing as the transparency you used in Craft Stamper. Can't wait to get started on my first ever stamped fabric-paper background!
This ATC is very nicely done! Sandra
