For your eyes only Spread

You won't be hearing much from me in the next couple of days as I will be away both days at a beading workshop with the fabulous US beader Laura McCabe as teacher. The kits she is going to teach us look gorgeous and I'm really looking forward to the classes. On the other hand I know it will also be a tiring experience and by the time I get home each evening I might not be in the mood to blog much.

But here is another addition to my sketchbook (for The Sketchbook Project) and it will have to be almost the last spread as the sketchbook is bursting at the seams. I had to remove some pages and glue others together to make it a bit more stable again and I've started to think about the last page and the cover.

This spread is a true treasure trove of scavenging (that being the theme of my sketchbook). The faces and eyes are clear tape transfers and the background of both pages has been scavenged from a sketchbook done back in the early 90's by me. The parts of the flower come from an old calendar and the faces and text from an old glamour magazine. I added rubber stamping (the word Wonder) along both edges of the pages.

I really like this, frieda! I am also sad your sketchbook is almost filled, pooh! i really have enjoyed seeing your art in a new way for me; much more mixed media. mmmm, i think i will try a spread with eyes in my sketchbook! I have some saved from a magazine and it might be just the thing for me after a lot of packing of boxes today! xo
