Winter has come early

This morning when we opened the door to let the dogs out, I really had the feeling we had been caught in some kind of time warp. The past 8.1/2 months seemed like a dream and here we were back in April this year which is when the last lot of snow finally left Macbiehill.

The whole spring, summer and autumn months could have been an illusion and we are once again in the grip of winter. Apparently it's been about 20 years since winter came so early and this weather is supposed to last at least for another fortnight or so. I hardly dare admit to it but there was definitely an excitement rising within me at the sight of the snow.

And I wanted to share the following with you as it describes so exactly my feelings:

The first fall of snow

is not only an event,

it is a magical event.

You go to bed in one kind of world

and wake up in another quite different,

and if this is not enchantment,

then where is it to be found.
