Exhibition opening day postponed

This is a picture of the postcards I had printed for the colour - quilts - collage exhibition.

I'm very pleased with it as Abacus Printers did a wonderful job with the Photoshop file I send them. They kept in touch with me and the cards came back very fast too. I'm so relieved too that I decided not to mention the dates for the exhibition on the back of the cards. It was a last-minute change of mind and was mainly made because the minimum order for the cards was 500 and I didn't think I would use them all up during the exhibition. By not putting on the date I can use them in future too.

So the fact that the official opening for this exhibition has been moved from the 2nd April to the 23rd April doesn't affect the cards. It hasn't done a lot for me, but all the walking and outings in the last few days have helped to take my mind off things, and calmed me down. The problems are to do with building work in the building but no need to go into details here. Instead I'm trying to concentrate on spreading the word.

If you're a regular reader of this blog and are also in a UK quilting group, please can you pass this information on to as many people as you come into contact with. It was much too late to catch the incorrect information published in the various magazines although I'm pleased to say the Scottish Borders Museum Service has contacted all concerned to make it clear that I am in no way to blame for this situation but that they were.

That does not do anything to change the situation but I'm rather attached to my reputation.
I'll keep you in touch with developments here as much as possible and will also regularly post with just the change of date info in between usual blog postings. If you look at the top of this blog you'll also find a page dedicated to the exhibition with the latest news. I would find it so very upsetting if people turned up only to find the exhibition wasn't up and running yet.

On a more positive note, I'm the Featured Artist for the Marie Antoinette swap site as you can also see on the button in the side bar. Terri asked me great questions and has done a wonderful job of illustrating the page with my pictures too. And although she doesn't know it, she managed to brighten up this week and month for me no end!!

Oh my dear sweet Frieda! How are you? Another exhibit is a very exciting thing! Shame about the mixed-up dates, and I am sure that me telling you everything happens for a reason will make you want to kick me in the shin :) But it does, and in the end it will be a fantastic show by a fantastic artist!

I wish I were there to be "eating a huge sweet, something I wouldn't normally indulge in, full of whisky, cream and raspberries has a very soothing effect on the soul despite the effects it might have on the hips." as stated in your prior post! It all sounds wonderfully delish!

Love ya, love your art!

Ja-who-dee :)

Frieda, I am so sorry to hear the opening date of your exhibition has been postponed. I will certainly pass this on to my group. How about making an announcement at the comimg Regional Day? That would let many people know.

Thanks so much for the great comments! And yes, Doreen, that had crossed my mind too but I will make sure to check again with the Museum as I have become a bit reluctant to accept anything as definite from them! Hope to see you there!!

Frieda, I am so glad you have those beautiful cards to use. How brilliant of you to not put the date on!
I am thrilled that you are artist of the month at MAMA. You deserve it! I am going to hop over there and read your article.
Hugs,
Terri

Hi Frieda
Sorry to hear about your exhibition dates being changed and upsetting your schedule. I've put details about your upcoming exhibition in the Irish Patchwork Society Summer Newsletter. The newsletter should be published in the next few weeks. So hopefully, you may get a few Irish visitors.
Regards
Claire
