A bit of bad and a bit of good!

Today was the day my exhibition should have opened but as I hope everyone knows by now, the new official opening day will be on the 23rd April. However we fervently hope to have it hanging before that time. I'll keep you posted on this blog! And as a taster here is one of the quilts that will be there, entitled Paradise and Beyond.

So not a very happy day but as if to make up for my downer the day brought glad tidings. First of all my March Journal Quilt The Cup splilleth over had won one of the random prizes for March on the Sketchbook Challenge Flickr site. If you want to read more about how I made it you can refer back to a previous blog post here.

And then I received notification from the Brooklyn Art Library that my sketchbook had been borrowed twice while in Portland, ME during the tour. Thank you to Matt P and Jean S! You'll never know how happy you made me! You can see my entire sketchbook online here.

The sun also came out, there are young lambs about and I managed to photograph a female pheasant today too (my blip today), so all in all the day was a lot better than I had expected.

Good morning just out visiting from Alpha Stamps, and I am soooo happy I stopped by. Your work - all of it - is exquisite! I must linger for a while to soak it all in.
Cheers!

I came upon your blog because of Alpha Stamps. What an inspiration. I'm a very beginning art quilter and while I'll never be in your class, seeing your work will certainly help me. Thanks.

I am glad that today wasn't a total downer for you - that's great about your beautiful sketchbook getting rightful recognition. I'm afraid I never returned mine. It is still in progress as I inch through my fear!
