 How to capture light? That was the challenge today on Artful Adventures, Stroll through the Hood. Yet again the day, or at least this morning, was perfect as the sun was out in intervals. The above is the view from the south side of Penicuik House through the lime walk and the Chinese Gates towards the Allan Ramsay monument. I have featured it here before but that was when there were no leaves on the tree yet, and at a different time of day. Now there was a splash of light to enhance the scene, that is my most favourite view in the Penicuik Estate.

 Another beautiful spotlight of sunshine fell just above the Low Pond unto the bridge in the distance.

I loved this play of sunshine on the many wildflowers and the river in the distance. So much texture in this picture!

The river is a bit closer here and the sunlight sparkles through the trees beautifully. It was an ideal day to search for and find the light.

Coming along for the Ride

It's amazing just how often we need to go shopping, specially as there are only the two of us. At least as far as humans are concerned. But there are also two dogs and one who still is not feeling her best, so we decided to see if we could find some tasty food for her that was also light on the stomach. So off it was to Pets at Home. I decided to try some photography from a moving car, and no, I wasn't driving!

 The light and sky were beautiful with intermittent sunshine and it was also quite mild.

But even so, photography is best done when standing still and on stable ground. Above is one of the glorious views from our own lane, taken by getting out of the car and lining things up till I was happy with the resulting image.

And zooming in even more resulted in this image that reminded me strongly of Japanese woodcuts. I love all that negative space. Something very serene about so much sky.
